Terms of Use
Last updated: 16 July 2026
1. Who we are
This website, CheckedIn-CheckedOut.com (the “Site“), is owned and operated by BRS Digital Consulting Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (“we“, “us“, “our“). You can contact us at admin@checkedin-checkedout.com.
By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms“). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Site.
2. About the Site
CheckedIn-CheckedOut.com is an editorial travel publication offering articles, guides, and commentary aimed at independent travellers. Content is written and curated by us. The Site does not currently allow visitors to upload, post, or submit their own content (including comments, images, or reviews), and these Terms should be read on that basis. If this changes in future, we will update these Terms accordingly.
3. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, all content on the Site — including text, articles, photography, graphics, logos, and design — is owned by us or licensed to us, and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
You may view, download, and print content from the Site for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not:
- reproduce, republish, or redistribute Site content (in whole or in part) for commercial purposes without our prior written permission;
- modify, adapt, or create derivative works from Site content;
- remove any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices from Site content;
- scrape, harvest, or systematically extract content from the Site using automated means, except as permitted by our robots.txt or with our prior written consent.
Reasonable, properly attributed quotation or linking for editorial, review, or educational purposes is generally fine — if in doubt, get in touch.
4. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- use the Site in any way that breaches applicable law or regulation;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, our servers, or any systems or networks connected to the Site;
- introduce viruses, malware, or other harmful material via the Site;
- interfere with the proper working of the Site, including through denial-of-service attacks or similar conduct;
- use any automated system (bots, scrapers, spiders) to access the Site in a manner that sends more request messages than a human could reasonably produce.
5. Newsletter and email sign-up
We offer a newsletter that visitors may choose to subscribe to. By subscribing, you agree to receive email communications from us, which you can opt out of at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us directly. Our collection and use of your email address and any related personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy.
6. Advertising and sponsorship
The Site displays advertising served through Google AdSense and the Google Advertising Network, and may feature sponsored content from time to time. Where content is sponsored or a relationship exists with a brand or advertiser, we will make reasonable efforts to identify it clearly (for example, by labelling it as sponsored or an advertisement). Advertising and sponsorship arrangements do not influence our genuine editorial opinions, which remain our own.
Google and other third-party vendors, including through the Google Advertising Network, may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Details of how this works, and how to control it, are set out in our Cookie Policy and Google’s own policies, including Google’s advertising cookie usage described at policies.google.com/technologies/ads. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or, if applicable, www.aboutads.info.
We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third-party advertisers or ad networks, and any transaction or interaction you have with an advertiser is solely between you and them.
7. Third-party links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites (for example, hotels, airlines, tour operators, or other travel-related businesses mentioned in our articles). These links are provided for your convenience and information only. We do not control, endorse, or accept responsibility for the content, accuracy, products, services, or privacy practices of any third-party site, and including a link does not imply our endorsement of it. You access third-party sites at your own risk and should review their own terms and privacy policies.
8. No professional advice
Content on the Site — including destination guides, recommendations, and travel tips — reflects our personal opinions and experiences. It is provided for general informational and entertainment purposes only and does not constitute professional travel, medical, safety, financial, visa/immigration, or legal advice. Travel requirements, prices, opening hours, and availability change frequently; you should independently verify anything material to your own travel plans (including, but not limited to, visa requirements, vaccination advice, safety guidance, pricing, and booking terms) with the relevant official or commercial source before relying on it.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including (without limitation) warranties as to accuracy, completeness, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We make reasonable efforts to keep content accurate and up to date but do not guarantee that it is error-free or current at all times.
10. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law.
Subject to the above, to the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from:
- your use of, or inability to use, the Site;
- reliance on any content published on the Site;
- your use of any third-party website linked from the Site;
- any decisions or travel arrangements you make based on Site content.
This includes, without limitation, indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or loss of data, whether arising in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Site.
12. Availability and changes to the Site
We may update, suspend, withdraw, or restrict access to all or part of the Site at any time without notice. We are not liable if, for any reason, the Site is unavailable at any time or for any period.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date, and will apply from the date of posting. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes or claims), are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any such dispute or claim.
